 Welcome

We have meetings on the third Tuesday of every month.  Our group meets at the New Horizons Computer Learning Center on Beacon Parkway off Valley Avenue. Our normal room is room #9 but check the visual displays when you arrive to confirm.  Food is generally provided for each meeting.  If you plan on attending email steelcitysql@gmail.com so we can get an accurate head count to plan for food.

In an ongoing attempt to build the SQL Server Professional Community in Birmingham, we start each meeting with a 30 minute networking session.  Unless noted in the meeting notes the schedule for each meeting will be:

6:00 - 6:30 - Networking Session
6:30 - 7:30 - Presentation(s)
7:30 - 7:45 - Door prizes and Question & Answer session

He is also a technical contributor to Plurasight Training, co-author of Volumes 1 and 2 of "SQL Server MVP Deep Dives", as well as the upcoming "Professional SQL Server 2012 Administration". A popular speaker, Robert has presented at events such as TechEd, SQL Rally, and numerous SQL Saturdays.

Overview:

Reporting Services can be one of the easier tools to configure, once you understand how to use the configuration manager. In this session you'll explore the configuration settings available through the exploration of the Reporting Services Configuration Manager. You'll learn the different accounts Reporting Services will need in order to run, how to access Reporting Services via URLs, and the importance of encryption keys.
